A couple days, a couple kids and a couple thank yous!

This trip was planned, postponed, cancelled and picked up and planned again in a matter of a couple days. We weren't sure about our tax refund for a while, then Jason's surgery changed it. (We were to leave the day the surgeon reschuled the surgery for.)

We went away for a couple days. It was nice to get away from reality for a couple days (although problems at home - including an emergency room visit for a child - and car trouble did peak in and dim things a bit.)

We could only take a couple of the kids. David Jr went with us. Probably one of his last trips on a "family" vacation. He is planning to start college again at the end of this month so we'd have to work around his schedule. Jason and Pete of course were ready to go!

Given the info from above, this trip was like just picked out of thin air. Dave looked at his schedule at work and said - okay I'll reschedule for this week. Worked out great for him, me, Jace, Pete and David jr, but not the other kids. Samantha had acheivement tests last week and couldn't miss school. Mike is on the track team and in the school musical right now. The performance is this weekend so he couldn't miss either. Jarred chose not to go due to grades/money. He needs to pass one class for sure so that he can go to the local tech school in the fall. He is struggling in history and knew a week out would probably end his chances of that happening.

and my MIL. She had Camp Grandma this week for Samantha, getting her off to school, taking her to the emergency room when the emergency happened, driving Jarred back and forth to work.
